  • 2 Elementary UDL Self-Contained Teachers
  • 1 Middle/High School Self-Contained Teacher

Requirements for Middle/High School Self-Contained Teacher:

  • Must have a 461 Endorsement

Hours:
35 hours per week

May 22, 2025

Job Description:

As a Special Education Teacher with Lawrence County School District, you will have the opportunity to work with students with diverse learning needs in self-contained classrooms. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
  • Providing differentiated instruction to meet the unique academic, social, and emotional needs of each student.
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student growth and development.
  • Collaborating with special education staff, general education teachers, and other professionals to support student success.
  • Utilizing Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and evidence-based practices to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction as needed to ensure academic growth and achievement.
  • Communicating regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and discuss strategies for supporting learning at home.
