Cheraw, nestled in the heart of South Carolina, boasts a rich history dating back to the colonial era, offering a unique backdrop for both teaching and learning. Job Description: As a High School History Teacher at Soliant Education, you will have the opportunity to engage students in the study of the past and its impact on the present. You will create dynamic lessons that foster a deeper understanding of historical events, movements, and cultures. We are seeking a dedicated educator who is passionate about helping students develop historical literacy and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state curriculum standards and promote historical inquiry and analysis
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies, including primary source analysis and project-based learning, to facilitate student learning
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel valued and respected
  • Assess student understanding and progress through formative and summative assessments
  • Integrate local history and cultural perspectives into lessons to connect the past to the present
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units and enriching learning experiences

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, History, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Valid teaching certification in History (or eligibility to obtain certification)
  • Strong knowledge of world and U.S. history, as well as historical research methods
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth and development
