Occupational Therapist (OT) Position in Wyandotte, MI

Description:
We're in search of a compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our vibrant school-based team near Detroit, MI. In this role, you'll provide holistic rehabilitation services to students facing physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges. Your aim is to support students in enhancing their daily functioning and achieving greater independence and well-being.

Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to gauge students' physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional abilities and limitations.
Develop tailored treatment plans based on assessment results, considering students' goals, capabilities, and preferences.
Administer therapeutic interventions, such as exercises, activities, and specialized equipment, to boost functional independence and enhance overall quality of life.
Offer hands-on therapy and guidance to improve students' motor skills, coordination, strength, balance, and flexibility.
Educate students, families, and caregivers on effective strategies to promote independence and integrate therapy goals into daily routines.

Qualifications:
Hold a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
Possess current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology, along with knowledge of various physical, cognitive, and emotional conditions and their effects on daily life.
Have proven experience in assessing, planning, and implementing occupational therapy interventions.
Exhibit empathy, patience, and sensitivity towards the unique needs and obstacles faced by individuals undergoing occupational therapy.
