Description

Serve as the community partner site for Pewaukee Lake Elementary’ s off campus DPI licensed 4K program. This partnership is contracted and state funded. Collaborate with district’s 4K team, implementing district established curriculum, and completing quarterly assessments for all children enrolled. Mentor and support Early Childhood students interested in pursuing a career in this field each semester.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide 4K eligible students with hands-on learning opportunities that foster social-emotional, cognitive, large/fine motor, language, early literacy and numeracy learning experiences daily. Curriculum taught is to support children’s school readiness skills for 5K. Curriculum implemented must mirror what has been established through the Pewaukee School District per contractual agreement with the school district.
2. Mentor and fulfill cooperating teacher responsibilities for WCTC students pursuing a career in profession or related field.
3. Implement quarterly assessments on children’s development that is provided through Pewaukee Lake Elementary school district. Implement 2nd level assessments on individual’s development using Teaching Strategies software to support individual lesson planning.
4. Complete mid-term and final assessments per semester for Early Childhood students completing practicum requirements for Early Childhood Education (ECE) program.
5. Complete semester parent-teacher conferences per contractual agreements with the school district.
6. Complete beginning of the school year assessments for all children who reside in Pewaukee enrolled at the WCTC 4K site.
7. Participate in weekly meetings with PSD 4K collaborative team.
8. Provide nutritional snacks and meals daily for all children that align with CACFP (federal food program).
9. Maintain current professional/ technical knowledge through professional education and activities. Be aware of and stay current on related laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Working knowledge of theories and principles of childhood growth and development from birth through ten years of age.Knowledge of child behavior.Knowledge of first aid, safety, sanitation and nutrition pertaining to Early Childhood Education standards of best practice.Effective interpersonal communication skills in speaking, writing and listening.Strong customer service skills, working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents, and other staff.Ability to plan, manage time and organize own work and creative activities for children.Familiarity with computer software applications such as word processing and spreadsheets.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s in Educator or related field and a DPI certified teacher license #080-090 or #100-108.Current CPR/AED/First Aid Training.Current Child Neglect and Abuse certification.1-2 year teaching experience.Supplemental Information

This position supports the Education and Human Services department and is available to start by on/or before September 3, 2024.

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position. Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
