Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team. As a key member of our student support services team, the School Psychologist will play a pivotal role in promoting the academic achievement, social-emotional development, and mental well-being of our students. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation, along with a deep commitment to serving the needs of all learners.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, and emotional functioning.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and community stakeholders to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to support students with diverse needs.
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and therapeutic interventions to students experiencing academic, behavioral, or emotional challenges.
- Facilitate student support team meetings and participate in multidisciplinary collaboration to develop effective intervention strategies and support plans.
- Serve as a resource to school staff regarding best practices in behavior management, social-emotional learning, and mental health promotion.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives aimed at creating a positive and inclusive school climate.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and progress monitoring data.
Qualifications:
- Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
- Valid certification/license as a School Psychologist (PSY) in the state of Maryland.
- Previous experience working as a School Psychologist in a school or educational setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools, intervention strategies, and educational laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to cultural competence, equity, and inclusion in education and mental health practices.
