Respiratory Sleep Clinician

Performs home sleep study electronic downloading, reading and scoring of data for physician interpretation. Discusses sleep test results with patients and provides them with information regarding treatment alternatives. Instructs patients on proper use, maintenance and cleaning of sleep apnea equipment. Provides clinical support to patients via telephone calls or e-mail support to patients having issues or questions regarding sleep apnea equipment.Essential Responsibilities:
- Performs home sleep study downloads, reading and scoring.
- Provides clinical support to patients via phone calls or e-mail, including call backs and troubleshooting issues.
- Instructs patients on proper use, maintenance, and cleaning of sleep apnea equipment, including sleep education clinics.
- Communicates with outside Respiratory/DME (Durable Medical Equipment) providers to facilitate patients sleep equipment needs.
- Assists patient with referral process for sleep testing.
- Participates in outpatient sleep QA process.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
- Minimum one (1) year of experience as Respiratory Care Practitioner (Respiratory Therapy) working with CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure), Bi-Level devices and interfaces.
Education
- Graduate of one (1) or two (2) year respiratory therapy program or equivalent education and training.
- High School Diploma OR General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
- Respiratory Care Practitioner License (Washington) required at hire
- Respiratory Therapist Certificate required at hire
- Basic Life Support required at hire
Additional Requirements:
- Experience with CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure), Bi-Level devices and interfaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of experience as Respiratory Care Practitioner (Respiratory Therapy) working with CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure), Bi-Level devices and fitting interfaces.
- Previous experience with PSG and/or home sleep studies.
- Acute respiratory care experience and home respiratory care experience with CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure), Bi-Level devices, interface fitting and home sleep studies.
- Three (3) months training in out-patient sleep apnea services including one (1) month of supervised practice.
- Graduate of four (4) year degree respiratory therapy program.
