Job Description:

As a Special Education Teacher, you will:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create inclusive learning environments.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to ensure student success.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student performance and IEP goals.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement and achievement.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education for the state of Massachusetts.
  • Previous experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
