Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary lead, facilitator, organizer, and coordinator for Army system, in the planning, analysis, design, development, testing and deployment of the architecture that supports this system and its internal/external systems, applications and data interfaces
  • Responsible for the definition, implementation, and execution of the processes for the definition, maintenance, and conformance management of the Enterprise Architecture
  • Responsible for creation, update and maintenance of all key Enterprise Architecture deliverables
  • Establishes and maintains contacts within all ACWS business units and information system programs to understand business activities and business drivers, business requirements, solutions strategies and alternatives, etc., being considered and/or implemented and understanding impact on Enterprise Architecture
  • Provides enterprise architectural leadership in the resolutions of inter-program, inter-business unit, and inter-project issues
  • Provides ongoing publicity and communication of the Enterprise Architecture both within the information community, and the business units
  • Develops and documents Enterprise Architecture maps/models
  • Coordinates Enterprise Architecture activities impacting ACWS
  • Develops and coordinates Architecture Plans
  • Assists in the aligning of business and enterprise initiatives within the Enterprise Architecture
  • Supports auditing and compliance activities to ensure established Enterprise Architecture standards are implemented and followed
  • Communicates enterprise architecture strategies with business and technology leaders, both within and outside the organization
  • Develops an understanding of what the business needs for Enterprise Architecture solutions
  • Influences the organization to accomplish goals and needs through its architecture activities
  • Demonstrates abilities to derive, define, and explicitly represent various artifacts within the Enterprise framework
  • Develops and maintains project and Enterprise level model consistency and integration

Qualifications

Miminim:

  • Bachelors in Computer Sciences, Information Management or related field (Masters Degree in similar field is acceptable substitute)
  • Must possess an activeSecret Clearance, for which you must be a US Citizen
  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement/process modeling projects
  • 10 or more years experience with architectural frameworks
  • Ability to organizational mission and strategies to IT solutions
  • Strong knowledge of DoDAF or FEAC
  • Familiarity of other architecture modeling techniques and tools
  • Expertise with Microsoft tools to include MS Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Sharepoint
  • Working knowledge of Army and government contracting.

Desired:

  • EA certification (e.g., Enterprise Architecture Certification (CEA), Associate Certified Enterprise Architect (ACEA)) or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
  • Experience establishing enterprise functional and technical architecture design patterns and technical reference architecture and providing subject matter expertise to implement governance of that framework in the federal space.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to compose, write and edit a variety of general business correspondence, management reports, technical presentations, training material, proposals and position papers.
  • Must be comfortable interacting with key leadership, be articulate, and be proactive.
  • Must be able to work in a highly charged and fast-paced environment to prioritize and complete assigned tasks based on guidance from senior leadership. Interacts with staff at all levels and across organizational teams.
