Part-time Adjunct Faculty

Waubonsee Community College’s Visual and Performing Arts, Education, and Sciences division is currently seeking an adjunct instructor to assume teaching duties of a face-to-face course on Anatomy and Physiology.
BIO272 - Anatomy and Physiology II:
Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30-9:15 pm (CST)
Adjunct Faculty in the Visual and Performing Arts, Education, and Sciences report to the Assistant Dean and work with full-time faculty in designing lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to ensure that students successfully meet the course outcomes.
Thesepositions require professionals with excellent communication and interpersonalskills. Ideal candidates must have strong organizational skills and the abilityto multitask as well as the ability to engage students and promptly respond tostudents' needs.
Instructorsare responsible for student evaluations, and timely and accurate submission forrequired instructional paperwork. Ability to effectively use instructionaltechnology and Learning Management System to enhance teaching and learning isdesired.
Responsibilities:
Meetingthe established course description as well as program, course, and collegelearning outcomes and/or objectives while addressing each student's needs asdiverse learners.
Followingand instructing students to follow safety rules in the laboratory.
Incorporatinglearning-centered principles and concepts while motivating students to activelyparticipate in their educational experiences.
Meetingall college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades and data collectionfor assessment of student learning.
Integratinginstructional technology (if applicable) appropriately and effectively todeliver and enhance teaching and learning.
Workingcollaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students andthe community.
Modelingprofessionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonalskills.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Biological Science or related field with 18 graduate hours in Biology, required.
Preferred Experience:
Teaching biology at a Community College or Vocational/Technical institution.
Practical knowledge in biology laboratory is required.
Teaching traditionally under-served populations.
Incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learningprocess.
Teaching in multiple instructional modalities.
Utilizing Learning Management Systems.
