The Opportunity:

Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, a network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the DoD needs.

As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your skills in network design and architecture, system interoperability, OSI model, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding to help support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll deploy enterprise-wide infrastructure, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructures, and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.

You’ll apply your knowledge in routing and switching, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing as you join our team of problem-solvers.

Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you help optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in Cryptographic equipment, software and hardware firewalls, Cisco hardware, Palo Alto firewalls, cloud migration, optical infrastructure networking, and virtual routing and forwarding, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in Cisco networking and troubleshooting switches, VLANs, Cisco IP phones, and cryptography, such as KG175

  • Experience in reimaging computers, and installing and configuring operating systems

  • Ability to travel one week per month

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • Security+ Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience troubleshooting, including Cisco networking, such as switches, routers, and VLANS, Cryptography, such as KG175, static routing and OSPF, and telephony, such as Cisco phone and call manager

  • Experience with customer service

  • Experience with the latest trends in network technology and best practices

  • Ability to collaborate with customers and government officials to plan and deploy network expansions and new Geographically Separated Units (GSUs) to meet developing mission requirement

  • Ability to communicate complex technical requirements to leadership and external customers orally and in writing and provide project status, reports, and network recommendations

  • Bachelor's degree

  • CCNA Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
