The Bremerton School District is seeking a passionate and qualified School Registered Nurse (RN) to provide essential healthcare services to our elementary school students.

About the Position:

In this temporary role (May 13th, 2024 - June 14th, 2024), you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment for our students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing first aid and basic medical care for students with injuries or illnesses
  • Administering medications as prescribed by physician's orders
  • Assessing and monitoring student health needs
  • Developing and implementing individualized health plans for students with chronic health conditions
  • Collaborating with teachers, staff, and families to promote student well-being
  • Educating students and staff on health topics and disease prevention
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential health records

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Washington with an unrestricted license
    • Current CPR or BLS certification (or obtain within the first 30 days)
    • Valid Washington State Driver's License
    • Ability to pass WA State fingerprint requirements
    • Knowledge of specialized medical equipment used in school settings (feeding tubes, pumps, etc.)
  • Recommendations:
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or RN with a bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred)
    • Minimum of one year experience in public health nursing, community health nursing, school health, or pediatric nursing (preferred)
    • Previous experience as a school nurse (highly preferred)
