RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Operates ultrasound equipment to performclinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasiveprocedures according to established standards and practices.Provides patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment.Demonstrates knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology.Provides patient care to all age groups to include neonatal,pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics. Communicates effectively withstaff andradiologists.
Qualifications:
MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED:
  • Graduateof an AMA approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program orequivalent experience according to Intersocietal AccreditationCommission (IAC).

MINIMUMEXPERIENCEREQUIRED:
  • None.

MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BYLAW:
  • None
  • Mustbecome registered by the ARDMS within (6) months ofemployment.
  • Vascular Sonographers must becomeregistered and/or RVT, RVS, RT(S), RT(VS) within (6) months ofemployment.
  • Licensure requirement for BreastUltrasound can be met with registration through ARRT(BS).

ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS:
  • BLScertified.
  • One (1) year of experience ispreferred.
  • Registered ARDMS and/or RVS/RVT(Registered Vascular Specialist) isdesired.
