Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Springfield, Oregon

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Summary: The Springfield School District is seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The SLP will work with students across various grade levels to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to improving students' communication skills, academic performance, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication skills.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language impairments.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and adjust therapy plans as necessary.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional input regarding students' speech and language goals.
  • Provide training and support to teachers and staff on speech and language development and strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Oregon state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Oregon Teaching License with an endorsement in Communication Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience working in a school setting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, parents, and specialists.

Requirements:

  • Background check and fingerprinting clearance.
  • Compliance with state and federal regulations for special education.
