Each employee at the College is an integral part of the Moraine Park mission, and we work diligently to hire candidates with aligned values to help move the mission of Moraine Park forward.  Position Summary:Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a Adjunct Faculty Electrical Power Distribution Instructor on our Beaver Dam Campus.  This position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet college academic and workforce needs. In addition, this position will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner’s classroom and career goals. The successful candidate will have an associate degree in a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience with two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) being taught, including one year (2,000 hours) of related paid work experience that has been acquired within the past five years. In lieu of this one year of recent experience, two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the past five years may be considered. (Two years of post-secondary teaching experience means eight semesters of part-time teaching or four semesters of full-time teaching at an accredited institution.) Join us at Moraine Park Technical College, where we strive to make a positive difference in the lives of our students  Responsibilities:• Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.• Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.• Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe.• Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.• May participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.• Assist with student recruitment and positively promote the College programs and services offered.• Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.• Maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.• Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices. Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies. Complete all required training.• Maintain equipment and supplies for the classroom and labs, as necessary to support the assigned program area and future trends in industry.• Perform other duties as assigned. Experience & Qualifications(in addition to those listed in the summary above):• Experience in the following job duties:  o Equipment operation - overhead and underground residential distribution (URD) related vehicles and equipment  o Erect, maintain, and repair wood poles and metal towers, cable, and related equipment  o Installation and servicing of transformers, generators, conductors, underground distribution  o Ability to climb electrical poles, string wire conductors, and electrical power distribution  o Familiar with safety rules, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, electrical code, rigging, right of way, climbing equipment, and tree trimming  o Proficient in map reading, surveying, specifications and drawings, and being computer literate• Knowledge of the following:  o Alternating Current (AC)  o AC Circuits  o Parallel Circuits  o AC Instruments and Meters  o Line Design  o Street Light Circuits  o Underground Distribution  o Limiting Equipment  o Electrical Motors  o Series Circuit Resistance and Impedance  o Capacitors and Capacitor Reactance  o Series Circuits (i.e. R, XL, XC)  o Substation Design  o Operation and Maintenance• Upon hire, must maintain and/or obtain Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance System, and other agency requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.  Desired Qualifications:• OSHA 30 Cardholder.• Completion of an industry-recognized line worker apprenticeship. Other Position Requirements:• Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.• Flexible scheduling may be required to include evenings and weekends. Hiring Range: Adjunct pay rates may vary between $39.85 - $43.99/hour based on course configurationStarting: August 15, 2025
