- Job Summary
- As a Nurse Assistant at CoxHealth’s 400 Med-Surg Cardiac Unit, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day basics of patient care. Enjoy helping patients while working under the direction of nursing staff to perform duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, and moving patients, changing linens, and other assigned duties. You will obtain information on patients’ conditions as requested by the nursing staff and report any changes in patient condition.

Education
Preferred: High School Diploma or EquivalentExperience
Required:- 3 months experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years OR
- Completed an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years OR
- Licensure/Certification/Registration
- BLS must be obtained within 90 days
Nurse Assistant Apprenticeship
- Job Summary
Functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. While in the clinical learning environment, will provide basic patient care under direction and supervision of clinical educator and nursing staff. During clinical rotation, may perform duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens and other duties within their scope of practice as directed. While in clinical setting, obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff or clinical educator and reports any changes in patient condition. At the end of the training, a competency assessment will be administered to validate learning.
