Job Opportunity: Special Education Teacher

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher seeking an opportunity to make a difference in the George Mason, VA area? Soliant Education is currently hiring a licensed Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year.

Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: George Mason, VA Area
Grade Levels: K-12th
Employment Type: Full-time, On-site

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring that goals and objectives are tailored to each student's unique learning profile
  • Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, including reading, math, and writing, using evidence-based teaching strategies and accommodations/modifications as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents/guardians to create inclusive classroom environments and facilitate student success in the general education curriculum
  • Utilize data-driven assessments and progress monitoring tools to track student progress and make instructional decisions
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom culture that promotes independence, self-advocacy, and social-emotional growth
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and parent conferences to support student learning and development

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education
  • Valid Virginia State certification/licensure in Special Education
  • Experience working with students with a range of disabilities and/or exceptionalities across K-12 grade levels
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to advocating for the diverse needs of students with disabilities and promoting equity in education
