Job Description: Soliant is partnering with a school district in the Rockford, IL area to hire a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher for a self-contained middle school Life Skills classroom for the upcoming 2024/2025 school year.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with significant cognitive disabilities.
- Adapt and modify curriculum to meet the needs of students.
- Utilize various communication methods to support non-verbal students.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, paraprofessionals, and other staff to ensure student success.
- Monitor and report on student progress.
- Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with significant cognitive disabilities.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
