School Based Physical Therapist

Soliant is working with a Special Education provider based in Brookline, MA and is seeking a contract Physical Therapist for this school year.

Requirements:

  • Massachusetts Physical Therapist license

  • Some experience with pediatrics, or with school-based Physical Therapy, desired

The applicant will be serving member school districts based in the north Chicago suburbs, serving children with developmental delays, disabilities, or medical conditions that require a unique approach to education.

Description of duties:

  • Review students medical history and referrals or notes from doctors or educators

  • Diagnose students motor functions by observing them stand,?walk, or navigate the school environment?and by listening to their concerns

  • Develop individualized plans of care for students, outlining goals appropriate to students' conditions and developmental levels

  • Use exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to support student access to their environments, and?facilitate health and wellness

  • Evaluate and record students progress, modifying the plan of care and trying new therapy activities, or equipment modifications,?as needed

  • Educate students and their families about what to expect from the therapy process and how to cope with challenges?
