The Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the University of Connecticut is seeking applications from outstanding Board Certified Pulmonary/Critical Care physicians to serve as the Program Director of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship. Appointment will be at the rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The candidate must be Board Certified Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care and have relevant experience in post-graduate medical education. In addition to serving as Program Director for the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship, the successful candidate will provide clinical care, which could include attending in the medical ICU in the Pulmonary office practice. If the successful candidate arrives at UConn with salary support for research, the clinical care component of this job description could be adjusted accordingly.

As Program Director, the candidate will oversee all aspects of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship Program, including curriculum development, faculty mentorship, and the recruitment and training of fellows. The role requires ensuring compliance with ACGME accreditation standards, fostering a supportive educational environment, and advancing the academic and professional development of fellows. The Program Director will work closely with division and departmental leadership to align the fellowship program with institutional goals.

Additionally, the individual will play an active role in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows who rotate through the ICU and the pulmonary inpatient and outpatient services. A commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and research is essential.
