A reputable school district in Chester, PA, is currently seeking a dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join their team. This full-time position is designed for individuals who are enthusiastic about science education and committed to fostering a positive and dynamic classroom atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in science.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
- Instruct and supervise students in the use of scientific equipment and experiments.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining an orderly and safe classroom environment.
- Assess and evaluate students progress in written and oral work, utilizing various assessment tools and strategies.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
- Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
- Continuously update professional knowledge through educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Science Education or relevant field. Master's Degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification for Middle School Science in Pennsylvania.
- Proven experience as a Middle School Science Teacher or in a similar teaching role.
- Deep knowledge of science concepts and enthusiasm for the subject matter.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Commitment to students' educational development and personal growth.
- Ability to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment.
