Job Description:Soliant isseeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year in Rhode Island. This full-time position involves working with elementary students with diverse learning needs, developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), and collaborating with parents, teachers, and other school staff to create a supportive and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student learning and development.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage and support students with different learning styles and abilities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, and adjust instruction as needed to ensure student success.
  • Provide a safe and positive learning environment that encourages student growth and development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid Rhode Island teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with elementary students with special needs.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
