Campus Location: This position can work out of any of our campus or education centers located in Cincinnati, Dayton, or Cleveland, OH; Florence or Louisville, KY; Fort Wayne, Greenwood, Indianapolis, Kokomo, or Merrillville, IH with a hybrid schedule of 3-4 days onsite and 1-2 days per week online.

Summary of Position: The position leads the 21st Century Church (“21CC” “or “Initiative”), an enterprise development initiative of N&G. The position provides thought leadership, program development, partnership development, facilitation, community development, and administration to develop and deliver the 21CC programs and learning experiences. In concert with the 21CC initiatives, the position supports the development of partnerships with churches, Christian non-profits, and other strategic partners in the Christian movement. The development efforts aim to support the university’s enrollment, advancement, and influence. The position requires travel and attendance at in-person training experiences hosted at IWU or client locations. The Director is responsible for maintaining a positive profit and loss statement and developing a strong financial plan for the 21CC.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Product Development
    • Leads the design and development process for training curriculum, certifications, and learning experiences, including content, online coursework, interactive activities, and wraparound experiences
    • Product development should entail the rapid development, testing, iteration, and launch of unique learning experiences designed to serve churches and Christian non-profits
    • Engages in individual curriculum development
    • Identifies, trains, and supervises other individuals in the development process for online, in-person, and hybrid modes
  • Thought Leadership
    • Serves as the thought leader for the Initiative, including developing and maintaining public appeal as subject matter expert and connector
    • Invests time and energy to identify, synthesize, and respond to the trends impacting the 21st Century Church
    • Develops connections with other thought leaders and creates space for conversation about related topics
  • Facilitation
    • Oversees and facilitates in-person and online learning experiences, including content delivery and logistics
    • Recruits and trains facilitators
    • Assesses the performance of training experiences
  • Community
    • Develops and implements value-added, wraparound communal experiences alongside 21CC programs and learning experiences
    • Develops and maintains a network of facilitators and provides routines, guides, and other resources
  • Financial Management
    • Manages the initiative budget, drives lucrative partnerships, and maintains a positive profit and loss statement
  • Sales
    • Participates in the sales and partnership development process with prospective clients
    • Supports consultative sales conversations and presentations
    • Works with the internal sales team to develop proposals and executive summaries to support the sales process
  • Liaison
    • Serves as the academic liaison between the initiative and various academic and operational units
  • Supervises any part-time or full-time personnel supporting the initiative

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • A doctorate degree in ministry, business, or leadership is preferred
  • A master’s degree in one of these fields is required

Experience

  • Experience with entrepreneurial endeavors in higher education, the church, or business is strongly preferred
  • Five to ten (5-10) years of significant leadership experience in the church, higher education, or a start-up business is preferred

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and introductory experience in learning experience design technologies
