Overview

LMI is seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable individual to specialize in Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) and obsolescence management. This role is a unique blend of technical expertise and policy development, tailored to address the challenges of material and component availability in dynamic supply chain environments. This position supports clients in the DC metro area and will require occasional in-person meetings. Partial teleworking will be permitted in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth DMSMS analyses, identifying potential risks and obsolescence issues in client systems and supply chains.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive DMSMS management plans, incorporating industry best practices and compliance with relevant policies.
  • Provide expertise in interpreting and applying specific DMSMS policies and regulations to ensure client adherence and proactive management.
  • Integrate DMSMS into supply chain planning and risk management processes and policies.
  • Perform data analytics to forecast obsolescence trends, assess impact, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DMSMS considerations into broader supply chain strategies.
  • Educate and advise clients on the latest developments, techniques, and tools in DMSMS and obsolescence management.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients, highlighting findings, recommendations, and action plans.
  • Support projects analyzing existing system-support supply chains (including, inventory management, maintenance, and distribution) in government organizations such as the Department of Defense (DoD).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role focusing on DMSMS and obsolescence management.
  • Deep understanding of DMSMS policies, tools, and approaches.
  • Proficiency in supply chain risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with relevant analytical tools used in supply chain and obsolescence management.
  • Available for occasional travel
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance. Active Secret clearance or Top Secret preferred.
