Summer and Next School Year Physical Therapist: Bridgeport, CT

Soliant is excited to collaborate with a Special Education provider based in Bridgeport, CTin the search for contract Physical Therapists for the upcoming school year.

Requirements:

  • California Physical Therapist license
  • Some experience with pediatrics or school-based Physical Therapy desired

Dates: August 2024 - June 2025
Hours: Full Time
Number of Positions: 3 PT's needed (2 at preschool level, 1 for the whole district K-12)

Description of Duties:

  • Review students medical history and referrals from doctors or educators
  • Diagnose students motor functions by observing them stand, walk, or navigate the school environment
  • Develop individualized plans of care outlining appropriate goals for students' conditions and developmental levels
  • Utilize exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to support student access to their environments and facilitate health and wellness
  • Evaluate and record students progress, modifying the plan of care and trying new therapy activities or equipment modifications as needed
  • Educate students and their families about the therapy process and coping strategies
