Founded in 1855 as the New Jersey State Normal School, TCNJ maintains the eighth highest four-year graduation rate among all public colleges and universities. It is ranked by Money as one of the top 15 public colleges “most likely to pay off financially,” and U.S. News & World Report rates it the No. 1 public institution among regional universities in the northeast.Position Overview:The Department of Political Science seeks a temporary Adjunct Faculty member for the Spring 2026 semester.Responsibilities:The College of New Jersey's Department of Political Science is seeking a dynamic adjunct instructor to teach our undergraduate East Asian Politics, Spring 2026 semester.  Course Description: POL 353: East Asian Politics, Mondays & Thursdays, 11:00 a.m.–12:20 p.m.This course investigates political history, regime change, economic growth strategies, and security concerns among Japan, the People’s Republic of China, Taiwan, South Korea, and North Korea. To note:·      The instructor is free to make use of the existing syllabi, revise them, or create their own.  The course will ideally be offered in person at TCNJ's campus in Ewing, NJ.Minimum qualifications include:•    PhD or Master’s degree from an accredited institution in political science/government•    Prior college-level teaching experience is preferred•    Excellent written and oral communication skills are required Required:PhD or Master’s degree from an accredited institution in political science/governmentPrior college-level teaching experience is preferredExcellent written and oral communication skills are requiredPersons with disabilities may request reasonable accommodations in order to perform the essential functions of the position.
