DescriptionThe Department of Neurology at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for a General Neurologist. The rank of Assistant or Associate Professor will be commensurate with experience, with the option to pursue a tenure-eligible or tenure-ineligible track depending on career trajectory. To be considered for the tenure-eligible position, candidates must have a strong interest in a career in academic medicine and demonstrate scholarship and excellence in two domains consistent with the requirements for tenure in the School of Medicine. The incumbent will participate in caring for adults primarily or exclusively in the outpatient setting. An interest in headache medicine is preferred, but not required for this position. The University of Virginia and affiliated UVAHealth form the premier institution for medical research and clinical care in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The faculty member will be welcomed into the highly collaborative environment of the University of Virginia and have ready access to several research-oriented schools and centers across the University of Virginia grounds, which provide a rich platform for shared discovery. The University of Virginia is located east of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, just 30 minutes from Shenandoah National Park and 100 miles south of Washington DC.
