Job Description:


The Department of Psychology at Salve Regina University invites applications for adjuncts to begin teaching in Fall 2024. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the Psychology Department. Candidates are required to be able to teach at least one of the following classes: Developmental Psychology, Theories of Personality, Theories of Counseling, and special topics in their areas of expertise. Teaching is available for 1-2 courses in the Fall and Spring semesters with flexible scheduling.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Prepare and teach in-person, on-campus classes.
  • Grade and return student assignments in a timely manner.
  • Provide a course syllabus at the start of the semester to the department chair. Templates and other materials will be provided.
  • Basic use of the Canvas learning management system to disseminate syllabus and other course material to students.
  • Use Salve email (i.e., @salve.edu) to send and receive official email correspondence with students, staff, and administrators.


Requirements:


  • Ph.D. or other advanced degree in Psychology or related disciplines
  • Ability to teach a diverse group of students
