Occupational Therapist (OT) Position in Waco, TX Schools
We're on the lookout for a skilled and caring Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our energetic team based in Waco, TX schools. As an OT working in schools, you'll provide comprehensive rehabilitation services to students facing physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges. Your main aim will be to assist students in developing, regaining, or enhancing their ability to carry out daily activities and achieve greater independence and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional abilities and limitations.
- Create personalized treatment plans based on assessment results, taking into account student goals, abilities, and preferences.
- Implement therapeutic interventions such as exercises, activities, and adaptive equipment to promote independence and enhance quality of life.
- Offer hands-on therapy and guidance to improve students' motor skills, coordination, strength, balance, and range of motion.
- Educate students, families, and caregivers on strategies to enhance independence and integrate therapy goals into daily routines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and various physical, cognitive, and emotional conditions and their impact on daily life.
- Demonstrated experience in evaluating, planning, and executing occupational therapy interventions.
- Empathy, patience, and sensitivity to the unique needs and challenges of individuals undergoing occupational therapy.
