Description: Soliant Education is currently seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in the Thermal, California area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) teacher in a classroom setting, providing essential interpreting services to facilitate communication between students and teachers. The district requires certified interpreters to ensure high-quality support for students with hearing impairments.

Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation services to facilitate communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their teachers.
• Assist the DHH teacher in delivering instructional materials and facilitating classroom activities.
• Interpret lectures, discussions, and instructional materials to ensure that students have full access to the curriculum.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and students to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working with students and staff.

Requirements:

• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID certification).
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings preferred.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to the needs of students and teachers.
