Teacher for the Visually Impaired opening in Cary, IL

Job Title: Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)

Location: Cary, IL

Start Date: August 19, 2024

End Date: May 30, 2025

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours daily

Caseload: PreK-8th grade students. Will include traveling to different schools. Hours will range from 7:30 AM - 3:40 PM.

Requirements/Duties:

  • Must be licensed as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) with a Professional Educator License (PEL).
  • Provide consultations and in-services to students, teachers, parents, and community groups to facilitate students' participation within the school and community.
  • Adapt environment/materials specific to students' disability.
  • Provide instruction on the use of adapted materials.
