Job Title: School Physical Therapist (PT) - Philadelphia, PA and Surrounding Areas
Are you a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT) seeking an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students? Look no further We are currently seeking a skilled School Physical Therapist to join our team in the Philadelphia, PA and surrounding areas.
Job Description: As a School Physical Therapist, you will work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate and provide therapeutic interventions to students with physical disabilities or injuries. Your role will involve assessing students' needs, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based therapy techniques to improve their mobility, strength, balance, and coordination. Additionally, you will collaborate with the school staff to provide recommendations for adaptive equipment and modifications to support students' participation in educational activities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of students' physical abilities, strengths, and areas of concern
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students in individual and group settings
- Monitor students' progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document outcomes
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to promote students' functional skills development
- Educate and involve parents and teachers in implementing strategies to support students' physical development and well-being
- Provide training and guidance to school staff regarding the implementation of therapy interventions and accommodations
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the development of goals and objectives for students
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required documentation
- Stay informed about best practices and advancements in pediatric physical therapy through professional development activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid Physical Therapist (PT) license in Pennsylvania
- Previous experience working in a school or pediatric setting is preferred, but new graduates are also encouraged to apply
- Strong knowledge of pediatric physical therapy techniques, assessments, and treatment approaches
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and colleagues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Understanding of special education laws and the IEP process is desirable
