Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Stratford, Connecticut

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Position Overview: The Stratford School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The SLP will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students improve their communication skills and succeed academically and socially.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' speech and language abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' communication needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' speech and language development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and treatment plans.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of students' goals and objectives.
  • Provide training and support to teachers and staff on speech and language development strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Connecticut state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Connecticut Educator Certification with an endorsement in Speech and Language Pathology (Endorsement Code: 061).
  • Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting.
  • Compliance with state and federal regulations for special education.
