Job Title:Graduate FellowDepartment:Dentistry | Biosciences-JM

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a Graduate Fellow to join its Division of Biosciences. The Division of Biosciences is a multidisciplinary basic science unit committed to research and teaching in the broad area of the biomedical sciences. All faculty members within the Division are engaged in active research programs and are funded by a variety of organizations including the National Institutes of health and the national Science Foundation.

The successful candidate will undertake independent and/or collaborative research and to contribute to research strategies within the division by independently undertaking advanced research in the relevant discipline area, using or developing the appropriated methods and/or techniques, and take responsibility for resolving problems affecting the delivery of research projects and planning future research projects that might emerge from the current project.

Schedule

Hours varies depending on research needs and ongoing experiments.

Position Requirements

A graduate fellow must be able to: use both hands, dexterity in the fingers and the ability to manipulate instruments, materials, and operate equipment. The body must be able to stop and reach in order to conduct lab procedures. The ability to sit and stand for a duration of time is also necessary. Other specific requirements include color spectrum differentiation; manual dexterity/motor coordination, hand-eye coordination, physical communications; visual activity and communication/language development. Individuals is this position may be exposed to the follow: animals; bloodborne pathogens; chemical hazards (skin irritants); vibrating equipment; use of sharp instruments; and latex.

Required

This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
