Meat Manager FULL-TIME

$17.50/hr

Responsible for receiving product and ensures thataisles/freezers and refrigerators are stocked, labeled, clean anddelivered product is packed out, and proper customer service isprovided.

Essential functions:
-Ensure proper customer service and works to develop relationshipswith large customers.
- Supervises all activities in themeat department including product placement, rotation, signage, anddisplays.
- Responsible for overall departmentappearance, cleanliness, and adherence to both government andcorporate ordinances.
- Must maintain records asrequired. In the role of meat manager, he/she will oversee theAssistant Meat Manager (if applicable), Meat Supervisors (ifapplicable) and Stockers to assure that the meat department isoperating in a manner that adheres to company standards.
- Develops schedules, monitors performance and recommends theproper discipline as appropriate.
- Trains employees injob responsibilities and safe operating procedures
-Interviews candidates and recommends for hires.
-Disciplines employees when necessary and recommends terminations.
- Ensures that employees are performing the properinspections to meet HACCP regulations as well as conductingperiodic HACCP audits.
- Reviews inventory for productrotation on a daily basis to prevent shrinkage and damages.
- Ensures that shelf pricing is correct and reflects themost recent pricing and market conditions.
- Supervisesthe receiving of all meat products and ensures that the properpaperwork is completed.
- Maintains accurate computerinventory levels by having physical inventories performed on aregular basis and adjustments made.
- Maintainsrefrigerated equipment and makes sure maintenance contracts andschedules are followed.
- Supervises the ordering ofmeat products from vendors on a regular basis to assure we havecompetitive pricing and minimal shrink due to spoilage and not havetoo much inventory on hand.
- Makes sure all theemployees in the department can work the equipment such as Toledoscale and Dennison label machine.
- Coordinates that thepallets stored in the racks have the proper block and date tags.
- Follows program to maintain the cleanliness of thearea by a regular maintenance schedule of scrubbing, and pullingout pallets and cleaning underneath.
- Insures thatexcess inventory not slotted on floor is stacked in overhead racksin close proximity to where it is sold or stored infreezers/refrigerators.
- Assures that trash is removedfrom floor and properly handled.
- Makes sure that lowstock/out of stock information is communicated to the InventoryController after carefully checking the system and rack forproduct.
- Maintains that all signage is correct andthat the flyers prices are reflected on the product.
-Coordinates proper merchandising of aisles (logical adjacencies,proper holding power, space allocation) and creatively merchandisesand sets up impulse areas for merchandising.
- Performsadditional duties, responsibilities and projects as assigned.
- Performs weekly self audits of the Meatdepartment.

5days/week, must be available any day

Qualifications
  • Can lift 50 lbs
  • Must be at least 18+years old
Bachelor’s Degree or high schooldiploma/GED with at least 4 years experience in customer serviceAbility to read, analyze and interpret general businessperiodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questionsfrom managers, clients, and general public Ability to calculatefigures, and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions,percentages, area, mass and volume. Effective oral and writtencommunication skills. High level of interpersonal skills to handlesensitive and confidential situation and documentation. ComputerLiteracy
