Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our Extended School Year (ESY) program in Papillion, NE. This summer position is ideal for an individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs. The ESY program provides essential educational support to ensure students continue to progress and retain skills during the summer months.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in a resource setting.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary to ensure success.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
  • Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in a resource setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
