The Directorof Aquatics is responsible for directing allaspects of aquatics services and programming including but notlimited to operations, planning, budgeting, staffing and payroll.Senior level position, which must ensure guest and employeesatisfaction is achieved while maintaining profitability within theaquaticsfunction.
EssentialDuties &Responsibilities
- Developdetailed, realistic, and comprehensive plans that supportorganizational objectives, effectively allocating resources andtime across groups or departments
- Fiscal andbudgetary management of aquatic operations including creating andmaintaining departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial reportsas needed; reviewing and approving all purchases for thedepartment
- Participate and collaborate oncross-functional teams in order to effectively coordinate resortactivities
- Monitor, manage and respond to guestcomments and proactively addressing guest comments with operationalresolutions
- Conduct investigative actions withguests, where necessary, for guest service and liabilityclaims
- Develop, implement, and monitorschedules for the waterparkoperation
- Recruiting, hiring, training, andevaluating team member performance against standards; includingevaluation of compensation changes
- Plan andimplement staff training and development programs within thedepartment
- Participates in the Manager-On-Duty(MOD) program and executes duties
- Describes andassign responsibility and authority for the operation of thedepartment
- Monitor mechanical equipment andreports any problems to Engineering for repair by submitting workorders for repairs immediately to ensure effective waterparkoperations
- Serve on resort Executive Committeeto represent the interests of the waterpark and safetyprograms
- Enforce policies and procedures;maintain a working knowledge of general and departmental safetyprocedures. Attends safety training programs and in-serviceeducation as required
- Oversee Risk Managementand Safetyprograms
RequiredQualifications &Skills
- High Schooldiploma or GED
- Experience creating andmaintaining documents with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint,Excel)
- Minimum of 3 years experience managinglarge aquatics department with various waterparkattractions
- Ellis & Associates (E&A)International Lifeguard Training Programlicense
- E&A Basic Leadership TrainingLicense
- E&A InstructorLicense
- Experience in First Aid, CPR, andAED
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or AquaticFacility Operator (AFO) license
- Willingness towork flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and/or Holidaysasneeded

- Emergency Medical Technician or othermedical background
- Demonstrated ability toeffectively resolve conflict
- Committed tocomprehensive and in-depth analysis, planning, and implementationof every work effort

- Ability to motivate diverse groups toachieve extraordinary goals and overcomechallenges
PhysicalRequirements
- Swim 50yards in 4 ft. of water and retrieve a 10 lb brick from the bottomof pool
- Sit or stand for extended periods oftime.
- Extended exposure to hot and humidenvironments.
- Climb multiple flights ofstairs
