RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Facilitating patient care by assisting thephysician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiplespecialties, performing technical and some patient care dutiesunder the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinicalspecialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumesadditional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties asnecessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more globallevel and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors relatedto the surgerydepartment.
Qualifications:
MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED.
Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPNprogram.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:
Surgical Tech Certification and 3years of experience required. In lieu of Surgical Techcertification, 7 years of experience can be substituted forcertification for a total requirement of 10 years Surgical Techexperience.
MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
CurrentGA LPN License ifapplicable.
ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS:
Certification as a SurgicalTechnologist Required or Licensed as an LPN required.
BLScertification required.
