Our 12-month,comprehensive, transition-to-practice program facilitates yourprogress from student to professional nurse through education,mentorship and peer support. Our Nurse Residency program preparesnew graduate nurses by teaching the knowledge, skills and behaviorsthat are necessary to continuously improve quality and safety atthe point of care. It combines precepted orientation, led bydedicated preceptors, with blended learningexperiences.

Nurse residentswill:
  • develop the clinical judgmentneeded to rapidly recognize a change in patients condition and theurgency of a clinical situation
  • cultivateexcellent communication skills, allowing them to engage withcolleagues and support patients

RESPONSIBLEFOR: The staff nurse provides nursing care topatients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursingprocesses to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care forpatients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies andprocedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growthand accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintainingstandards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of allassigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care. Qualifications:
MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED: Graduate of a nursingprogram

MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED: New Graduates of a nursing programeligible

MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: CurrentLicense in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse BLScertification required.

ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degreepreferred
