Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant

Calling on licensed Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) who enjoy working with children Soliant has partnered with several school districts around Visalia, CA, and is seeking a contract PTA for the upcoming school year.

Details below:

  • Full school year; approximately 180 work days
  • 6 hours of billable hours per day
  • Itinerant across several districts (mileage reimbursements available)
  • Work with children with moderate-severe orthopedic impairments
  • Part of caseload will include children in Early Intervention programs--applicants will be providing care to infants and toddlers in their natural environments (in home, at daycare centers)

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the candidate will:

  • Implement therapy plan for students or infants/toddlers, in line with their IEPs or plans of care proposed by the Physical Therapist
  • Ensure that students, or infants/toddlers, are prepared for their therapy session by preparing necessary equipment
  • Supporting students or infants/toddlers with lifting and stretching exercises
  • Monitorthe safety and well-being of physical therapy students at all times; foster a supportive and encouraging therapy space; assistingstudents with becoming increasingly independent.
  • Consult with the Physical Therapist and adapting therapy activities as needed
  • Provide administrative support to the Physical Therapist, such as updating progress notes, keeping service logs, and ensuring PT has access to all documentation needed for their meetings
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of equipment and other therapy supplies

We seek applicants with the following competencies:

  • Supportive and energetic demeanor--ability to build rapport with pediatric patients
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good organization skills, with the ability to prioritize daily duties
  • Ability to foster a collaborative work environment

Requirements:

  • California PTA license
    • At least six months of experience with Pediatric Physical Therapy, or prior experience in a school setting, preferred
