Weekly Pay Range - $1613 To $1792**Job Title:** Surgical Tech CWR**Job Specialty:** Operating Room**Job Duration:** 13 weeks**Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, weekends and holidays as needed**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week**Experience:** Not specified**License:** Not specified**Certifications:** Preferred certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST)**Must-Have:** Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program or appropriate training program**Job Description:**- Responsible for cleaning and handling instruments following standard policies while maintaining updated records.- Follow policy in standardization of set-ups and utilization of surgeon preference.- Assume responsibility for the care and proper handling of instruments by neatly organizing all instrumentation before returning to the decontamination room and returning all clean supplies to designated areas.- Maintain count of sponges, needles, instruments, and administer and label medications according to established policy.- Handle specimens according to Operating Room Policy and Procedures.- Control contamination and provide for decontamination, disinfection, sterilization, and sanitation of instruments and equipment.- Remove used equipment and properly dispose of contaminated needles and syringes at the end of procedures.- Participate in team conferences to plan care, evaluate the effectiveness of patient care, and assist the circulator in revising the plan of care.- Maintain surgical tech skills proficiency checklist by checking off equipment and cases, circulating, or scrub when rotated through specialty areas.- Lift a minimum of 50 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 400 lbs., and stand for the length of the shift.- Identify the needs of the patient population served and modify and deliver care specific to those needs (e.g., age, culture, language, hearing/visually impaired).- Communicate with the patient, parent, or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy).- Adhere to the standards identified in the organization's competencies.**Schedule Notes:** No on-call requirement. English proficiency required for reading, writing, and speaking.
