Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher for a full-time position in Baltimore, Maryland. This role begins ASAP and extends through the end of the school year, covering a 233-day school year. The position involves working with a caseload of 6 elementary students in grades 3-4, focusing on life skills and transition, and addressing self-destructive behaviors.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of students with life skills and transition goals.
  • Provide instruction and support to 6 students exhibiting self-destructive behaviors (e.g., hitting, pinching) and work on managing and reducing these behaviors.
  • Create a structured and supportive classroom environment to foster student growth and safety.
  • Collaborate with other educational staff and parents to support student development and address behavioral challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Active Permanent Special Education Certification in Maryland (Conditional certifications will not be accepted).
  • Experience working with elementary students in life skills and transition settings.
  • Comfort and experience with managing self-destructive behaviors in students.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and behavioral management skills.

Additional Information:

  • Full-time position with 30+ weekly hours.
  • Daily schedule: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM.
