Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Overview: The Bridgeport School District is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The SLP will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and providing therapy for students with speech, language, and communication disorders. This role is essential in supporting students' academic and social success by improving their communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each students needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in groups.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students' communication development.
  • Maintain detailed records of student assessments, therapy sessions, and progress.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, offering professional insights and recommendations for student goals and strategies.
  • Provide training and resources to teachers and staff on effective communication practices and interventions.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Connecticut state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Connecticut Educator Certification with an endorsement in Speech and Language Pathology (Endorsement Code: 061).
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting.
  • Compliance with state and federal regulations for special education.
