Job Title: School Psychologist Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified School Psychologist to join our educational team. The School Psychologist will support students educational and emotional needs by providing assessments, counseling, and consultation services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, learning processes, and behavioral interventions, along with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and administrators.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct psychological evaluations to assess students cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans (BIPs).
- Provide direct counseling services to students, including individual and group therapy.
- Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to address student needs and develop strategies to improve learning outcomes.
- Participate in IEP and 504 plan meetings, contributing to the development of appropriate educational goals.
- Collaborate with other school professionals to support a positive and inclusive school environment.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student assessments, interventions, and progress.
- Stay current with best practices in school psychology, including updates in state and federal regulations.
- Masters or Specialist-level degree (e.g., Ed.S., M.A., M.S.) in School Psychology from an accredited program.
- Valid Texas licensure as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) through the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
- Completion of a supervised internship in school psychology, preferably within a school setting.
- Knowledge of special education laws, including IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and Section 504.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- National Certification as a School Psychologist (NCSP) from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).
- Experience working in a school setting with children and adolescents.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish-English) are a plus.
- Proficiency in administering and interpreting a wide range of psychological assessments.
- Ability to travel between school sites as needed.
- Capable of conducting assessments and therapy sessions in various school environments.
