Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based team in Spanaway, WA. The SLPA will support the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in providing therapeutic services to students with speech, language, and communication disorders, helping them reach their full academic and social potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the SLP in conducting speech, language, and hearing screenings.
  • Implement treatment plans and therapy activities developed by the SLP.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in groups, under the supervision of the SLP.
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions.
  • Prepare and organize materials for therapy sessions as directed by the SLP.
  • Assist with classroom activities that support students' speech and language goals.
  • Communicate with teachers, parents, and staff to support student success.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with school district policies and state regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Valid SLPA license or certification in Washington State.
  • Experience working in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under the supervision of an SLP and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
