Christiana Care Hospital is looking to hire an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager (RN) for our 5B Med Surg Telemetry Unit.

As an Assistant Nurse Manager (RN) you will engage in a relationship-based care model, building relationships with patients, their families, and your peers, guided by our values of love and excellence.  As well as support the Nurse Manager with the following: 

  • Assessing staff competency/performance review
  • Participating in human resource management
  • Supervising RN, SNE, PCT, PCTII, Unit Clerk, and Administrative Assistant staff
  • Scheduling and daily staffing
  • Assisting with the preparation of the annual budget and maintaining fiscal accountability
  • Developing and maintaining patient, employee, and physician satisfaction initiatives
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory agency standards
  • Developing and implementing performance improvement initiatives
  • Supporting shared decision-making and serving as a leadership liaison on unit-based councils
  • Supporting interdepartmental relationships

The Unit

5B is a General Medical Telemetry unit that has semi-private rooms & private rooms with a wide variety of patients aged 18 & up with the following diagnoses:

  • COPD
  • Diabetes
  • Congestive Heart Failure
  • Pancreatitis
  • Stroke
  • Wound care
  • …And many more

Education & Experience Requirements: 

  • Delaware RN License or Compact Nursing License. 
  • BSN required. If no BSN master’s degree is required date of hire. 
  • Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare, or business management required or enrolled to be obtained within 5 years.
  • 3-5 years of relevant clinical and leadership experience in an area or specialty is preferred.
  • BLS required.
  • Professional certification in a related nursing specialty is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to stand, walk, sit, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, twist, handle, stoop, and climb, as per unit-based Physical Demands checklist.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
