Job Summary:

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for performing professional accounting tasks including the examination, analysis, maintenance, reconciliation, and verification of financial records. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting practices, and a solid understanding of cost accounting and manufacturing processes. Experience in homebuilding and construction is preferred but not required. Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Monthly Accounting Tasks

    • Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts including intercompany and bank accounts.
    • Assist with the preparation and review of the annual budget and quarterly updates.
  2. Financial Reporting and Analysis

    • Assist with monthly analysis and reporting of financial statements.
    • Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  3. Payroll and Compliance

    • Support biweekly payroll processes, including handling sales commissions.
    • Ensure adherence to company accounting policies and procedures.
  4. Audit Support

    • Provide assistance to internal and external auditors as required.
  5. Database and Records Management

    • Maintain accurate and organized records of financial transactions and contract documents.
    • Manage a database for tracking and status of contracts.
  6. Additional Duties

    • Perform other accounting-related tasks and projects as assigned.

What You Will Need:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in general accounting, with preference for experience in cost accounting, manufacturing, or homebuilding.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Experience with budgeting and forecasting is highly desirable.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
    • Positive, professional attitude with a strong work ethic and team-oriented approach.

  • the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
