Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Lyman, South Carolina

Overview:

Lyman School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide speech and language therapy services to students, helping them develop effective communication skills and achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct screenings and assessments to identify students with speech and language disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and student needs.
• Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language impairments.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' communication development.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of student progress and therapy sessions.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of students' individualized education programs.
• Provide training and resources to teachers and parents on strategies to support speech and language development.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Valid South Carolina Speech-Language Pathology license.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Strong understanding of speech and language disorders and therapy techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience working with children in a school setting is preferred.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

• South Carolina Speech-Language Pathology License: Required for practice in South Carolina.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP): Required certification from ASHA.
