School-Based Occupational Therapist

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our school-based team in Boone, NC. The OT will be responsible for assessing and providing therapy to students with fine motor, sensory, and other occupational-related challenges, supporting their ability to participate fully in their educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify students' occupational therapy needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment results.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, addressing areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy strategies into the classroom environment.
- Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the development and review of student-specific goals and objectives.
- Provide training and support to school staff and parents on strategies to support students' occupational therapy needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid OT license or certification in North Carolina.
- Experience working in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
