Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Integrated Unified Communications Engineer include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for providing technical expertise in Unified Communications (UC) and collaboration technologies.
  • Work closely with other team members to design, implement, and optimize UC solutions.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, security specialists, and system architects.
  • Assessing client needs, recommending architecture improvements, and ensuring seamless communication across domains.
  • Specialize in UC technologies such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection, and Cisco Webex.
  • Supervises the UC Engineers in O&M, Innovation, and special projects across the program and provides guidance on uniquely challenging issues in UC .
  • Assists in the day-to-day operations, troubleshoot issues, and maintain UC systems.
  • Work together to deliver reliable and efficient communication services.
  • Assists and advises the UCEs, network engineers, and cyber security experts on voice and video communications solutions.
  • Advises on projects related to UC, video conferencing, instant messaging, and presence.
  • Ensures that communication tools are integrated seamlessly and meet security requirements.
  • Expert in Unified communications, Collaboration design, Edge services, Endpoints and user management, Configuration, Troubleshooting, and Integration
  • Focus on designing and optimizing network infrastructure across different security domains.
  • Address challenges related to data flow, security policies, and interoperability.
  • Cross-domain network architects work closely with UCEs to align UC solutions with overall network architecture.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification: Security+ CE certification or equivalent Windows 10 certification - MCSA or Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MDAA)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational skills; critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Clearance Required:

  • Must have active Top Secret clearance with SCI or TS with the ability to acquire SCI

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma

Minimum Years of Experience:

  • 8+ years of related experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) - Collaboration certification
  • Deep understanding of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
  • Proficiency in Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX) or Enterprise (UCCE)
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including LAN/WAN, QoS, and MPLS
  • Experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls, particularly in relation to voice and video integration
  • Experience with voice gateways, SIP trunks, and ISDN circuits
  • Expertise in call control protocols (SIP, SCCP, H.323)
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
