Travel Contract: Education setting Speech-Language Pathologist

Calling on Clinical Fellows and ASHA-Certified Speech-Language Pathologists seeking an opportunity to live and work in south Oregon Soliant has partnered with an Education Service District and is seeking intrepid SLPs to take travel contracts in the UPCOMING school year.

How does one qualify as a traveler?

  • Will you be arranging temporary housing during the school year?
  • Will you be commuting 75+ miles to work?

If so, you qualify for housing and/or meals and incidentals stipends Stipends are a tax-free allowance to offset your living expenses while on a contract assignment.

Candidates will have an opportunity to work with multiple age groups, from Early Intervention to Early Childhood programs provided in the county, to K-12 students enrolled in public schools. Additionally, applicants will have a chance to enroll in an excellent AAC training program--this is a great way to continue to invest in your professional expertise.

As a schools-based Speech-Language Pathologist, you will:

  • Evaluate new referrals on their communication abilities and determine student eligibility for speech services
  • Develop Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals, and make recommendations for speech services
  • Re-evaluate students on a periodic basis, and updating IEP goals if needed
  • Conductmeetings and completereports as part of the referral or dismissal process for speech students
  • Documentservices service logs, treatment notes, and track student progress with a mix of observations or testing data

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good organization, time management, and the ability to prioritize in a manner consistent with department guidelines
  • Flexibility and the ability to foster a collegial work environment

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communications Disorders
  • SLP license from the OregonBoard of Speech-Language Pathology
